The VTX fins have been tested for the entire winter season here in Hawaii. Plus, Lance Carleton has just started testing them in Australia.
They are a very versatile set of quads and take a slightly different approach in that they intentionally have only two options for the larger fins. Coupled with several options for the back fins, depending on what you are trying to achieve from the setup.
From the beginning, the intent behind this design was to make them work well in tight fin clusters and allow them to work in setups with the fins more spread out. Our focus is always on making them work exceptionally well in tight clusters.
We vary the shape of the back fin to handle different requirements. Brief descriptions of these different shapes are included in the infographic. The default setup is the VTX-500 coupled with the VTX-338NT (no tip), as this setup is meant to focus on the front fin, with the back fin adding additional drive.
We have gathered enough data to now know these fins are winners, so we are moving to the next step. That involves making the samples and then converting them into 3D models for production. We hope to have this sampling process done in the next few weeks.
Can't wait to get these added to our lineup in the not too distant future!
